Marian Hodgson has spent her whole life living and working in Yorkshire and has stayed in North Yorkshire for the past 21 years. Most of her working life has revolved around business establishing bakeries /shops with her late husband.

She has a banking, educational, business background and has worked for international corporate organisations. She was head-hunted by the Government Advisory Service for SME businesses and moved on to become Chief Executive of the eight Local Enterprise Agencies in North Yorkshire.

Marian has been a Chief Verifier for a University NQV awarding body so is well aware of the need to encourage skills and training for young people. Having worked with a National Charity dealing with dementia she is also well aware of the needs of our elderly population.

Marian has a good sense of humour, an enthusiastic personality and believes that everyone deserves the best out of life whatever their background or ability.
